01 | Identify what needs inspection
Explain the premises use, district, scope and known issues. WR1 enquiries can involve different work depending on the installation and available records.
02 | Check what the quote includes
- Scope of site inspection and testing.
- Drawings, certificates and other documentation.
- Whether improvement work and materials are included.
- Re-inspection, extra visits and travel arrangements.
These are items to check when agreeing on a quote , not items automatically included in every quote. The agreed scope takes precedence.
03 | Use photos for an initial assessment
Photos taken from a safe distance and a fault description can help. Photos cannot replace site inspection and testing. Do not touch live equipment to take a photo.
04 | Distinguish quotes, work and certification
After agreeing on a quote, coordinate the work and visit. Certification depends on actual inspection and testing results. An initial quote is not a promise of same-day certification or approval for supply.
